Due to various reasons, I'm not in a position to be able to put my bikes on the household contents insurance. So far all the quotes I've had have been ridiculous. I used to have my bikes covered by contents and it was only a couple of hundred quid all declared, now I'm looking at thousands!
Any recommendations?
I was in a similar position to you. Had to use a specialist cycle insurer (ETA). Very good, but very very expensive. The issue is, what choice do you have?
M&S do the best contents with bikes cover, however they won't insure my property since I'm in a "high flood risk area", which is insane given where I live! But they said they won't correct the entry.
However, I've just signed up for MoreThan. Got a pretty reasonable quote including 2 bikes (£2k + £5k).
If you must use a specialist cycle insurer, you will get stung, but the only other alternative is not to insure....which may sting even more!
