The (increasingly old) boys weekend away is being planned, and we fancy some roady-ing in the Yorkshire Dales.

Need some relatively cheap bike friendly accommodation on the south east side of the Dales, maybe Skipton, Ilkley, Pateley Bridge way. B&B, Travel Lodge, bunkhouse kind of place.

Plan to drive up early Saturday, dump car, ride a loop up into the Dales for the day, come back, find decent place to eat and drink (with veggie options), do similar on the Sunday.

Any advice recommendations? Always astonished how poorly I know not that far away!

Is the New Inn at Appletreewick still doing b&b for bikes? I know it's not John Pitchers any more but we found it a great base for road and/or mtb trips with secure storage, workshop, route advice etc

There's a Travelodge in Skipton (by roundabout on A65/A59 junction at west end of town), don't know about the Harrogate area.

I'd check The New Inn as above.

There's a bunkhouse near Kilnsey - http://www.skirfarebarn.com/ - don't know of any others.

There's a Premier Inn at Gargrave. Decent curry house in the village, or plenty in Skipton.

Best curry for miles is in Settle, don't know about cheap accommodation though.
