Hello,

Want to get my son his first proper bike this summer and I wonder if anyone had any good advice. I have seen these (balance) bikes which don't have pedals or stabilisers so they learn to balance on two wheels.
Or is it better to get a (normal) bike with stabilisers and that he learns to pedal first before balancing?
Any advice is very welcome.
Cheers!

My 2 1/2 year old daughter has a balance bike, she took to it really easy and is now flying around through woods and on trails. Can not compare it to one with pedals but if she had one with stabilisers we would not have ended up in A&E on Saturday night getting her top lip glued!!
I paid a bit more and got an Isla Bike as they run a buyback scheme for when they progress.
