[#1736977]

I am trying to get a quote for a bike i am delivering to someone.

I have tried parcelforce and dhl, and they say that the dimensions sre too big (120 cm * 30 cm * 100cm), which is about the size of a bike box i think.

Any ideas who I can use?

My LBS ship a lot of bikes. They will ship it via TNT for a reasonable fee.

Maybe a shop near you offers this service?

I guess they have a long running contract? CRC shipped my bike Parcel Force just said 'beyond standard dimensions' on the label

That said, UPS only quoted $150 to ship a bike from US in 8 days...

HDN are quoting £20+vat;

http://www.parcel2go.com/Quote-page.aspx?m1=120&m2=30&m3=100&w=20&cm=1&dest=GB&col=GB&qty=1

I've assumed 20kg which is quite generous.

mostly it's cost me about £15 to post bikes in the past.

parcel to go are cheepest, if you actualy measure a bike box they do fit (just) within the guidelines.

Senditnow.com will post bikes for £10.99 48 hour. Used them lots. It's just Parcelforce really but they don't care about the weight/dimensions too much.

We ship bikes with TNT every day with no problems. Maybe having a contract with them means different rules though.

Interparcel - sent a bike with them using UPS, delivered the next day and only cost £7.99! The box was a few centimeters over the max dimensions but never caused a problem.

+1 for this they delivered a long item in a cardboard tube that was a metre too long by their criteria and they didn't mind
