[#3661707]

Currently got a full sus (fuel ex).

Most riding these days is not that rocky and with the mrs who has a hardtail. Tend to ride wheels on ground as a bad fall could be career ending and thus too risky.

Fancying a hardtail to a) go up hills quicker as prefer up to down and b) slow me down when with the mrs.

As am 6'4 thinking 29er may be good option - canyon 8.9, cube reaction 29, Solaris??

Any thoughts/suggestions? Considered cross bike but would still like something ok for trail centre reds etc.

Cheers

A hard tail may feel faster, unlikely to actually be any faster.

Sounds a reasonable choice otherwise.

OK to rephrase I fancy a hardtail. What's good? Fast uphill ok downhill, but not too extreme race position.

A HT will only climb better than your FuelEx, if you build it lighter.
