I'm off to Tenerife in Feb and I'll be taking a bike. I've been pricing up bike bags / boxes but noticed that there are various companies that you can rent these from for about £6 a day or so. It makes more sense for me to do this then buy one.

Has anyone got any experience of renting one? Any recommended companies out there? Anyone on here want to rent me theirs?!

Road or mtb?
Plenty of shops hire them out. Shop I work in (bikeshak, altrincham) uses bike box alan boxes which are easy to pack (mtbs a bit more effort as forks need to come out) and very sturdy. £40 / week.

most of the shops near me rent them out - have you asked any load shops to you? Can always ask about doing a trial fit with your specific bike.

Loads of private hires on ebay - search bike box hire

Bike box alan also do it direct, but shipping costs add up if you're not local to them.
