There are quite a few I think! One I've been considering lately is the long-travel rip off. I have a decent 120mm travel bike, I've recently been thinking about 160mm bikes- it seems that the manufacturers expect me to pay almost twice as much to gain 40mm travel. I appreciate the bigger dia forks are more expensive and pivots are possibly burlier along with thicker tubing. There is no way those changes can be the reason for the price hike, it's just manufacturers being greedy.

Headsets are a bloody rip off.

Spares parts for forks/brakes/frames etc seem massively overinflated too.

Modern suspension forks. The disappointment was like being told santa didn't exist again when I took my fox apart and found they weren't made meythril coated unicorn bones.

Give me a Bomber Z4 any day.

Dropper seat posts, they are good and I love using mine, but not sure it's worth over £200. If I could have tried one for a few months then decided I would probably pass.

there are lots of expensive things out there, but i'm struggling to think of one that you can't happily ignore...

according to me: it's only a rip-off if you buy it.

Riding my carbon wheels in this rain done the pads
Cassette is probably due to riding about 200m a week and me hating overly lubed chains.

The price of tyres does my head in especially when the markup from the shops is 40-50%!
Camelback bladders £25 for 3 litres or £30 for a pack that comes with a 3 litre bladder.

Anything made by avid or SRAM, avid because the kit is terrible and SRAM because it's horrendously priced.
Santa cruz carbon frames, the price discrepancy between here and the us is disgusting.

Wow, 2 pages in and not a mention of Crank Bros products! Oh and inner tubes, they tend to be a rip off unless you buy them in a supermarket.
Tyres are also a rip off but the performance gains of a decent tyre soften the blow somewhat.

Kevlar beaded tyres, I mean the steel beaded are just the same and probly two thirds of the price, maybe a little heavier but seat better
