Anyone know any decent pubs around the half way mark for the L2B off road route?
I've been having a look on maps and don't want to chance a gamble
Last year ran very close to Cranleigh high st so loads of options for refuelling, think that was about half way.
Cranleigh has tonnes of options, but they're all 'village' pubs; no gardens etc. Cranleigh cycling club uses the Richard Onslow on the high street for post ride refreshment, it's got a paved area outside to dump bikes. There's the Bax Castle at Southwater which is on the route and does have a large garden, bit further south though.
The Mlik Churn at Rudgwick is a cafe rather than a pub, but there's a brewery on the same estate if you specifically want a beer, and they do excellent cheese on toast/macaroni cheese using locally made cheese. That's about 200 yards off the Downs Link, and signed.

+1 to the Milk Churn as a cafe stop, a favourite for Woking Cycling Club when heading that way.
There's a few nice pubs in Shere.
The Windmill on Pitch Hill is about 1km off route and is almost exactly halfway, adds a small offroad climb back in (big if you go the wrong way by road!!)
and you all but pass the Dark Star brewery at Partridge Green but that's at nearly 60 miles.
I was going to mention dark star brewery too if you just wanted to drink.
Three Horseshoes is a slightly odd choice - it's a small pub with negligible seating out front (so you can keep an eye on bikes) and it's (marginally) further from the route. There is a garden out the back, but only accessible through the pub.
Cranley Hotel or Richard Onslow would be better IMO.
