I invested in a Yakima Justclick 3 towbar rack a couple of years ago after many years using an Altera Strada DL rack.
In some ways, the Yakima is fantastic, particularly its locking mechanism to the tow ball and the detachable arms. However, it is not great when carrying more than 2 adult sized bikes as the 3rd bike slot doesn't gave adjustable wheel trays and is only really suitable for small bikes. Also, while the pitch between each bike slot is wider than the Altera, it is still a bit tight for boost and boost+ hub bikes.
I ride XXL bikes, so need something that can take long bikes and I want to be able to take 3 light and big ebikes on a rack. Thankfully, the max towbar weight on my car us 100kg, so that rules in most racks.
I've been looking at the buzzrack scorpion Pro 3 and was wondering if anyone had experience of it in terms of long bikes, bikes that need decent spacing, and the towbar locking mechanism. Putting the "frame" of the bike rack in between the 1st and 2nd slot seems like a great idea that should save a great deal of bike jenga, but I am concerned about the three areas I listed.
If not the buzzrack, any other suggestions?
It's so embarrassing when your thread is entirely uninteresting to other forum members.
I've got a Yakima just click 3. The 3rd bike slot can be usable for adults bikes if the bike goes in with the bars & front wheel turned 180. There's also longer straps you can get (which I really should do myself tbh)
That doesn't work for an XXL bike, that's for sure. Also a large faff. It is annoying that the wheel trays aren't adjustable like the other slots. My tyres don't even touch the 3rd slot wheel trays, so longer straps wouldn't help.

Are you sure? All the wheel trays slide out equally on mine, only the straps don't move on the 3rd slot, hence the need for longer straps. Had a mate's XL Jeffsy on there at the weekend, easily fit in the trays.Â

Max loading capacity is 60kg, so 3 big ebikes is out. Otherwise I have the normal Scorpion 2 and it's been really good
The wheel trays slide a bit, but you can adjust the strap anchors on the other slots by undoing a wee nut underneath the runner on each side. Can't fit my XXL out therefor sure.
