Any hints or tips on the above please? Never done it before and don't think I can get a bike box from anywhere but do have access too lots of big strong cardboard boxes.

Post in your local facebook group asking for a bike box
I did this last week and got 3 offers!
People are hoovering up new bikes, go get the boxes before the bin men come.

Failing the above, bikedelivery.co.uk will sell you a bike box.
(I've never used them myself, but they were mentioned on another thread here recently).

I also cut a piece of wood to pop in the wheel dropouts. Job done.
