Morning all..

Went to get my usual Dogtag Insurance cover for week long trip to the Alps, to get message that they don't take any new business currently.

Any recommendations for cover for Alps trip taking in France, Italy and Switzerland?

I’ve used Snowcard for the last two years. Fortunately I didn’t have to test how good they are when needed!

We used Big Cat insurance.

Easy to understand their cover - and the cover is pretty comprehensive unlike some others we looked at who had very vague 'no biking not on bike trails' - does that mean trail centre marked, Trailforks found, or sliding down the hill behind Carrefour? It also covers rescue costs - something not all of them did very well.

Eldest_oab has claimed with them 2 years ago. They were efficient and paid out as promised. He has just made another claim yesterday...ahem.

Cost: IIRC we were £180 for family of 5 for 17 days, eldest_oab was £83 for 10 weeks. Both included extra bolt ons

I used Yellow Jersey without need to call on them but one of our party did break himself fairly significantly with a long hospital stay. Can't comment if all costs have been repaid without quibble but I know they were hard to get hold of and pretty uncommunicative in the first few days.

Daughter has raced on the Enduro circuit and has Yellow Jersey insurance. Quite a few she rides with have had to use them world wide. Non seem to have had problems getting sorted or claiming. One of the reasons we continue to use them.
