M520s are 15.99 [url= http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/product-Shimano-Shimano-PD-M520-SPD-Pedals--Black-10227.htm ]here[/url]. I got my wife to bring me back two sets last time she was over in the UK beacuse they are about half what we pay for them here in NZ.

M647s get a good review from lots of people too - basically a M540 with resin cage.

Any Shimano SPD pedals work great, I particularly like my XTR as I bought them really cheaply (£35 brand new) and DX with long pins as the berings are so smooth despite lack of care ever.
