Whites, Skyline or Y Wal, or the new trail that links Whites and Y Wal?

Have a whole day, want to make the most of it.

Last time.

Parked at the first cafe.
Rode the Wall.
Once back down to the old railway track, follow for W2.
W2 to White descent, go to Dropoff Cafe.
Climb White/Skyline.
At top take sustrans route to top of Skyline.
Descend Skyline and then take old railway lines to first cafe.

tbh Skyline fireroads can be avoiding using the short-cuts.

Skyline is pants, too much of nothing.

I enjoy Whites the most.

Mate, I've done the full Skyline, which is why I'm recommending otherwise!

fair enough but it would be a shame to miss Heartburn, Excalabur and South Pit etc as well the other bits of 'natural' trail. I only go to Afan to ride Skyline these days everything else is or is getting worn out and less fun to ride (and I only live 20 mins down the road).

Last time I went there I parked in the Pontrhydyfen car park (which is free!) and started on W2.. Stopped for a coffee and cake at Glyncorrwg.. Climbed Whytes, did the black run, and then followed the fire road over and did the whole of the July trail descent of Skyline, climbed Whytes again and went over to finish Y Wal. All the best bits!

I did the whites up to windy point and came down the sky line trail thurs night and also though it was feeling very worn and over grown, hope it has some maintenance soon it's one of my favourites.

Thedong, skyline is great. It's a proper xc trail.
