[#4691982]

I have Goretex jacket and trousers, eVent shorts and a Gore Phantom II Windstopper jacket.

All could do with a spruce up as they're not beading water (yes I know Windstopper isn't really meant to) so is there a re-proofer that can do all these fabrics? Which is th best?

Many thanks

I use Nik Wax. Usually the one most tech fabric makers recommend.

Grangers or NikWax - Grangers do a 2in1 wash and re-proofer, where as NikWax is separates. Think NikWax also do a different one that may help give waterproofing to Wind Stopper stuff (might have got that wrong though, could be to the Polar Tech kit). But with good kit I'd only use something from either of those ๐Ÿ™‚

I think they are all a variant of DWR treatment. So, as above Nik Wax. You need to be absolutely certain there is no residue bio washing powder in the washer, you can clean them with Fairy powder/snow flakes, basically any non bio. treat with nik wax, reactivate in tumble dryer or ironing/hairdryer.

I have a Grangers spray on battle and it is very good. Don't use the wash in ones for the same reason as above, you dont want it mixing in with any residual powder / detergent you had in there before, plus you only really want it on the outside of the fabric and not washed into the whole thing. Then spray it afterwards, and if the garment allows, put it in the tumble drier on a low / med heat or iron on a low heat as the temperature helps to activate the water repellent.
