Whistler, Squamish, Les Acrs and Scotland are the best places I've ridden. Mainly the only places I've ridden, but thats beside the point...

I've ridden in the Alps, Sierra Nevada, Peru, Poland and New Zealand as well as all over the UK.

The place I'd choose to ride:

Scotland. Specifically the Cairngorms.

Squamish and Pemberton for All Mountain, and the Whistler bike park is second to none.

In the UK the best place I have been is the Cairngorms. Abroad I went to the Alps with Bike Village who were excellent. Also been to Spain which was pretty good.

Unfortunately never been to Whistler, Peru or Morzine yet and all look really good.

I've been very impressed with Whistler, Squamish and the Basque country. t2r and www.basquemtb.com are very likely to get my money again in 2011.

Spain, central Spain, for the trails, the weather, the access rights and enforcement of and most importantly it's right on my doorstep!

Recently moved to Spain from Devon in the UK, I have mountain biked on the Sierra Nevada near Granada in Southern Spain which was great but a tad crowded, I have tried Benidorm which believe it or not was also great, but the best riding for me was the Sierra Espuna in the Murcia region of Southern Spain, great weather, superb tracks and I used a local English guide for 2 of the 5 days, Brilliant !

Anyone else know of anywhere else that could be testing for me? Southern Spain would be best but still willing to travel!

i'm a big fan of the les arcs/bourg st maurice area. some biggish DH runs, but it specialises in steep techy singletrack - which i love... been there every year for the last 7, and spent 7 weeks there this year.
i now live in morzine and am very much looking forward to summer! (although i don't ride the big DH tracks much myself...)

other than that, i spent the past 4 years living in scotland, which was simply brilliant. so i'd also give a big shout to the cairngorms and highlands. some absolutely stunning stuff around, with the access laws to go with it!

Sierra Espuna's that good? My aunt lives a few miles away and I haven't been to visit yet...

Another Vote for Sierra Espuna and Mick the guide - had a week there in October - awesome riding and not crowded. Stayed with Mark and Sam at Hotel Mariposa who Mick works with - unashamed plug moment - really good team and really nice people, Hotel good, food good and if you ask nicely if it rains (unlikely), they will make sure it's warm rain. Will be going back next year!

I'm biased, got a big soft spot for Scotland, but Sospel in France, and Finale, Molini and Lake Garda in Italy are my Euro fav's.

Blurboy, I also stayed at La mariposa with an MTB group, a great week for not a lot of money and the Sierra espuna is in my opinion the best riding in Spain, 1000 bends and the Savage descent spring to mind, its been a Spanish well kept secret.....
