Evening all,

Have a few of us looking around at a new venue for a week in the summer. We have previously ridden Les Gets/ Morzine 8 times, Les arcs once and Verbier 3 times. All have been great, just wondered if anyone had been some where that they thought was really good?

Cheers for any feed back...

How may we be of assistance?

There are growing number of STW'ers that we have had the pleasure of hosting. Most are repeat guests.
Hopefully some are in the morning crowd and will share their experiences?

Happy to oblige: 6 of us had week in Whistler bike park courtesy BBB. Fantastic. Guide in the mornings took us around the bike park. Progressed us through the week: by the end we were hitting some of the pro line jumps/drops. The catered chalet is very good value. We had friends who stayed self catering in the village when we were there: they blew through more money on 3 meals a day than we spent for our week with BBB.

Hoping to return in 2016 when we'd like to experience the BC around Squamish.

The obvious place missing from your list is Chamonix with respect to Europe.

Les deux Alpes, we were in Alp D'Huez last year, went over the LDA for a day, and decided we were in the wrong resort.

I still think Morzine (or more accurate the whole PDS area) is the best, but I have been there enough now. But I think for most other destinations an enduro/all mountain bike is probably better than full on downhill. I found my downhill bike rather limiting at Les Arcs and Alp D'Huez.

I'm not sure Chamonix would be much fun for very long on a DH bike but for trail riding it's awesome.

+1 for Les Deux Alpes though

Cham wouldn't be top of my list either, although the trail riding is sublime. Whistler is the obvious call, but it will cost!

I was basing my Chamonix recommendation on the OPs three trips to Verbier as I was assuming he was doing more than riding the bike park there on a DH rig

We tried Bulgaria in July, fed up of expensive drinks and smashed up trails in Morzine/ Les Gets, and loved it.

We went with mtb-bulgaria.com but it would be easy to arrange yourself.
We spent 3 days in Borovets,3 days in Pamporova then 1 day in Vitosha, Sofia.
The lifts in Borovets close Wed and Thurs and Vitosha only opens at the weekend but double check first!

Went to L2A this year and was blown away by the trails for variety. Great setup and something for everyone. We're now looking at other places but think we'll end up back at L2A next year.

Wow, thanks guys...

First of all, I have always wanted to go to Whistler and this is already being discussed for 2016, fingers crossed. Will look WEPH, later this year as like the idea of some guilding.

We are all luckily enough to have more than 1 bike, although I have just bought a Dh bike for the trip. It was second hand so if i take my enduro bike I would get my money back.

Jambalaya, you were right, I rode a trail bike on 2 of the Verbier trips and a Dher on 1 of them. We only rode the Dh trails a couple of times, defo prefer the natural stuff.

Like the sound of LDA, Chamonix and the wild card of Bulgaria.

Many thanks to all, for the great feed back... Re search has begun!
