We are off to ride in the lakes over the weekend,we are going to do the parkamoor and walna scar route out of the lakes guide book from VG Guidebooks, but about half way down the walna scar descent it look like you end up riding down a road, anyone know any better routes down?

When you hit the car park at the road head you can turn left and work your way through the quarries. All sorts of routes through there. Some of the quarries are still working too. Barnes has a route that turns right at the car park and down a lane that really is cr@p and hardly rideable, but he'll tell you it's the best thing in the area.

If you heading down Walna and hit the car park at the top of the tarmac, at the gate, turn right, follow for about 400 yards, then take the gate on the left. This bridleway is a superb combination of steep grass, tech rock and slippery technical rocks in a narrow walled path. Its called Spoon hall and spits you out on the Coniston Torver road near the Ship Inn.

Its a Cracker mate. Have fun.
