Just a pic and a description and/or RAL code. No multicolour-fade/decal nonsense either!
Raleigh Bronze-Green (metallic). Found on Raleigh Twentys/Stowaways, (early-mid 1970s) . It was that good, it even looks good when frame is old, chipped and rusted. Need to find a code for it when my 29er finally needs a respray 🙂
My son's Spesh is in Fords Tangerine Scream.
PS May well setup an online poll in a few months. Just to make it official 😉
that anodised red on old paces.
Anything klein did.
[s]and molteni orange.[/s] edit: **** that what was i thinking bianchi celeste.
Love the Stanton Sherpa green
100 votes for Malvern Rider's entry.
Nice!
The purple of the first year's Vagabonds - not so keen on the white, so the suggestion in the Vagabond thread that they're returning to purple means I might be very tempted to buy a frame set.
And the bronze Croix de Fers
Calibre Dune, surely!
Niner Kermit green.
With red bits.

The only thing On One ever got right.
That Blue.
You know I'm right. 😉
My 2 favourite colour bikes were both yellow- I got my Mmmbop powder coated Traffic Yellow, and I absolutely love the Dune's yellow- already loved it even before I discovered it glows slightly in the dark. Black mud on ridiculously bright yellow is just... perfect. Only downside is it's hard to photograph, direct sunlight makes it glary (and sometimes it comes out pretty green on camera too for some reason)

I got my Hemlock anodised orange. THe colour came out a little more red than I hoped for but that turned out great because it looked so different in different light conditions- in bright sun it was a lively light orange, in twilight it was a really nice flat red. Very fast and furious.

Obviously a Hemlock's not a pretty bike but apparently this is as close as it gets to looking alright 😆
Lovely Northwind.
Orange Neon orange.

Holdsworth orange team colours.
Jeezuz Malvern that's a bit demobbed, army surplus, mend and make do.
British Leyland 3 day week green, cream, mustard or brown.
As mentioned above, the green on the Sherpa is gorgeous.
Love the understated tone of the Starling Swoop. It looks great in the flesh and quite different to most 'showy' paint. Suits it.
Biased as I have one now but pictures don't quite do the Shan 917 justice. The colours are really beautiful together.
The stealth black ano on the Banshee spitfire is badass.
Cotic fast red.
That on one blue.
On a skinny steel frame, most pastel colours.
Specialized seqoiua blue.
Marin zolatone grey from the early 90s has to be the best mtb paint.
^ cherry red mettalic sparkles FTW.
That and nickel silver Oranges with lumi decals.
Kermit green Niners, teal blue Saracen's with chrome decals and Purple P7's get an honourable mention.
I went for RAL 6037 Pure Green.

Bontrager did this red, looked almost Orange in those California lust photos from the 90s. Close to BMW Zinnobar.

You're all wrong. Fat Chance Green/Blue fade
Also the Stanton Switchback in Blue and Slackline Red...Stanton colours are lush.
No multicolour-fade/decal nonsense either!
Well that rules out the official best colours then, orange/white Clockwork, any linear fade pre 95 Klein or the Aqua fade Yo Eddy.
The only possible other choice left is either a neon orange Orange or Grello Yo. 😕
That Coleman's mustard yellow HT from a few years ago was fab.
Was it a Pipedream frame?
Red. Surely the fastest colour?
Pictonroad, that's my old Bonty. I bought it from Gil M. That's the bike I regret selling....

My gut reaction was red. Specialized Stumpjumpers or S-Works in red, always good. I'm going for turq. Apart from I kept busting them, I loved my Yetis, so my view is possibly swayed. The photo below is my 575 over 5yrs old so the paint was certainly durable too.

spesh had a pastel blue stumpy hardtail a few years back, with an orange fork and orange detailing. Beautiful, I just didn't want a stumpy hardtail at the time......
