[Closed] Best bladder and bite valve

I'm still using the bladder and bite valve that came with a Camelbak Mule nearly 20 years ago. It's a bit manky, tastes like pond water, but still works perfectly. The backpack fell apart and I replaced it with a different brand (due to Camelbak's parent company's love for the NRA), but I gotta say, their bladders and bite valves have always been excellent.

I've used a few different brands and find Osprey has the best bite valve.

I'm a fan of Source gear and bladders. They don't seem to get that crappy plastic taste like some other brands.

CamelBak, they're not the cheapest but I find them the best of the lot.

I find Camelbak bite valves are better than Hydrapak (who make the Osprey ones, and in my case Geiggerig) but prefer the design of the the Hydrapak bladders, so I've mixed and matched.

Platypus ones are good. Having a zip lock opener makes filling and cleaning so much easier

Hydrapak are the best bladders imo, you can turn them inside out so drying takes seconds not hours/days and they a baffle that connects front to back which means even the 3 litre one stays very slimline.

Hydrapak bite valves aren't great, I don't have issues with leaking but the lock is stiff and flow isn't brilliant.

Another vote for Hydrapak bladders - very easy to fill clean etc & don't leak.

I have an osprey hydraulics bladder, worked very well from the get go

Camelbak, easy.
By far the best flow of any bite valve (I've used) - also pretty indestructible. Osprey one that came with a pack was good, but got busted when the car door bounced on it - had to replace the whole bladder.

Agree with the above, camelbak bite valve by far the best but the bladders are better elsewhere.

I've not had a recent bladder go mouldy like the older ones used to, current bladder must be 3 or 4 years old and doesn't taste of plastic etc.

I have a hydropak in a USWE pack and like it for all the reasons above - I replaced the bite valve with one from an old Camelbak.
