Thinking of getting one in the new year really like intense Tracer 29er and the new covert, but is there any better out there?

No idea how you'd go about determining if one was better than the other. Anyway, that Yeti SB-95 looks pretty special.

Trance x. I think they missed the boat not running a 142x12 rear end.

How so, its a one piece structure? I really doubt youd notice any increase in stiffness.

I think the consensus is the TLc

From a purely marketing point of view and that it might detract potential buyers from what is a good bike, according to the reviewers.

Why fudge? I weigh 19 stone and I can't get mine to flex enough for me or anyone watching to notice (I have put a much stiffer AM/DH rear wheel in as I could get that to flex).
However they are not the most pretty bike, but I'm not looking at it when I'm riding it.

Banshee Prime and Intense Spider Comp with 140mm up front and Tallboy LTc.

Apparently all superb...

The Intense Spider is a great bike. Its a fair bit lighter than the Tracer so I think it makes a great UK trail bike.

In true STW stylee i would recomend the LTc as it's what i have.

I tried the Bandit 29 and the LTc and ended up going for the LTc.

Descends as well as my Nomad but is just so much better at everything else.

Very tasty Stu, but I think a bit too expensive as a 1st 29er

Fudge9202, have you seen my thread here? http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/what-bikes-havent-i-thought-of-long-travel-29er I'm after something slightly burlier, but there's some overlap in the suggestions.
