I usually ride something like a 1.8 Sauserwind on my 26er - light, fast but really grippy in all conditions
Whats the best all rounder tyre for 29ers akin to the Sausers, i.e. not too wide, 2.1 max is the widest I want to go
any views?
I would say Ardent, but that's a bit wide for you. I've used Maxxis Crossmarks which are pretty good.
light, fast but really grippy in all conditions
rocket rons yes they're 2.25 but a smidge over 500 grams for a 29er tyre, go like chuff and grip really well. Also fab tubeless on a stans.
Tried loads of other 29er fast/race rubber (not that i have a bit of tire addiction ๐ณ )
but they do poo on all other fast light 29er rubber
Friend of mine uses Specialised Renegades, they come in 1.9 or 1.95. Very low profile, fast rolling but grippy.
I'm also looking at Maxxis Ikons. But those are 2.2s
2.1 max is the widest I want to go
the 1990s called and your 29er doesn't exist. ๐
racing ralph, pick a width but i reckon 2.4 is amazing.
Ikons come up weeny.Bontrager 29-1.Stans crow.
2.25 racing ralph's, work all year round if you're careful, i'd say try going wider, theyre not slow like they were in the old days
ok, all good stuff, thanks for the advice!
what about a big cyclocross tyre? 35mm is 1.4" tyre. You might be able to find something a little bigger?
