[#8404390]

Got a branch jammed in rear mech tonight.

Mainly twisted the cage, managed to bend it back enough to ride home, but gears skipping all over.

Anyone managed to straighten one back?

Or am I right in thinking it will never be right again regardless of whether I think it's straight?

You've got nothing to lose having a go, just be careful of the hanger.

did it once on an X0 mech by removing everything and using a vice to flatten out the pieces- that worked fine - actually it is still going strong.

Please note you have more than likely twisted the parallelogram [ bit with the spring as well] and also the mech hanger - vice may sort the later no idea the former

If trying to straighten the hanger, too then make sure you have a spare handy from now - while it can be straightened with a good degree of success it won't be too strong afterwards so may suddenly fail / bend more easily next time.

Cage should straighten fine so long as you strip the jockeys ets out as Junk says above.

Parallelogram damage is basically dead mech body.
