Is Ben Wyvis worth taking a bike up? Is it a ridable ascent or bike and carry, and is the descent worth it?

I walked it about 25 years ago, its in the middle of nowhere and from memory not worth the effort.

If you are travelling up there, you'd be better taking in some of the glen routes, or Fort Bill's trails.

I do believe that Mike from Halfrauds has done it Mick. Ask him next time you're down these parts.

rode up from the back side of the ridge and pushed my 19" kona hardtail up the ridge. rode along the scarred top to the east end and back again.the view up over the dam towards Ullapool was like an oil painting.
then i raced a group of army guys down the ridge.. and was off the ridge before them and back to the car before they got to the carpark lol.

its been sorted out a lot since then so it might be an easier ride in many places.

wouldnt bother doing it again though.
