Hi All,
I moved to Derbyshire a couple of years ago and, while I'm loving having all the great riding we have on our doorstep, I'm missing my old group of riding mates from back home.
Does anyone know if there are any clubs/groups in the area? I had a Google but all I could find was DVATC and they don't seem to have been active since before the pandemic? Alternatively, if there's anyone local that just fancies a ride let me know.
Matlock Cycling Club have or at least had an active mountain bike section - but may be a bit far if you are in Derby...

Shame about DVATC - I used to be rides co-ordinator for them some years back. Their facebook page is still live and a few old members are on here so they may know the local scene.
I've not ridden properly for 5 years so I'm no use! 🙂
DVATC still go out on most Tuesday evenings, and quite regularly on Sundays too. Also, they have a number of camping/bivvy trips out, as well as the bi-annual shortest day/longest day rides in the peaks to see the sun rise from the top.
Best to email whoever is on the website. Iain sent me an email this week, no idea if he is doing the organising now, but the Tuesdays are on a Whatsapp group. Membership still stupidly cheap at £10.
Ilkeston Cycle Club (Club of the Year 2021 😎) have quite a lot of MTBers amongst the 400+ members.
Local off road rides on Monday and Wednesday nights tend to be more gravel type, as that's whats on the doorstep, but there's a fair number who arrange ad hoc MTB rides in more suitable parts of the county
Shipley Park Area Riders Club (SPARC) have regular rides on.
