Beinn Fhada loop

The map shows the Beinn Fhada loop but the article was about going up to the summit and down. So starting the loop clockwise then following the dotted line. It's worth adding in the bit up to the watershed (Bealach an Sgairne) and back too.

I've just plotted what I read onto OS maps, and it looks like this red route, as an out-and-back. As said, from the 'elbow' at about halfwafar eastern end of the route, you could ride down as marked in green pen, initially to the NE, then turning NW around Coire an t-Siosalaich to reach Gleann Gniomhaidh, and join the stalker's track westwards up to the aforesaid bealach. I've walked that descent (granted the upper parts were under snow at the time) and thought it would be pretty reasonable on a suitable bike.

The first pic in the article is the optional descent from the bealach, Luke though doesn't mention that they rode this bit.

Interesting, & thank you. when they referenced the there and back the loop didn't quite make sense. Although I prefer a loop....so maybe the second question is should I do the loop on trailforks for go for the out and back as per the mag article?!?

What i meant was two separate things...

1. from the 'elbow' at about halfway down you could ride up to the bealach and back
2. From the far eastern end of the red route, you could ride down as marked in green pen, then turn left in the glen and duly reach the top of that same bealach. Which rather neatly does then make a loop, or a lollipop at any rate
