Find a secret spot and take your shovel.

Best way to learn is building them yourself, get used to it then build higher.

Find a BMX track - tend to be a bit more forgiving that "trails" type jumps as they're pretty much all rollable.

The nearest one to Swidon I can see is Aldbourne.

trail centers?

I find they'r easier as you can hit them flat out and hoever bad your technique is theyr usualy laid out so that at that speed you'll make the landing.

The problem with BMX tracks is there's not usualy many tabletops, so its a case of all or nothing, you cant just hit it slowly and build up technique/speed/confidence landing on the top untill your hitting the landing before moving onto doubles.

cool, thanks - i might try the bmx track at aldbourne.
With regard to trail centres, i guess the energy section at Whites Level is the most obvious place to practice - anyone else got any suggestions?!

that's not really learning to jump tho is it?

no idea where swindon is apart from "down south" but I'd bet you have a decent skate park nearby.. and a fun box is a great place to learn proper jumping technique. and reasonbably safe when it doesn't quite go right ๐Ÿ˜‰

i've yet to go to a trail centre with anything i'd call a proper jump. certainly not the place to learn to jump. you could try accosting the local jump kids next time you see them, they might divulge the location of their local spot
