We are planning a ride with our boys tomorrow and have time to travel. my boys are 9 and 11 and ok riders. We live in Norwich and are a bit bored with thetford. We have travelled to sherwood in the past and spent weelends at LLandegla in wales (dont fancy going that far tomorrow).

The kids enjoy sherwood, so we are thinking of going there tomorrow. How about bedgebury, is this any good? We haven't tried it, so what do you guys think?

thx

There has always been lots of families when we have been there. There is a blue trail which is mostly smooth wide paths. Then there is the red trail which is all singletrack. The red route may be ok for your older son but probably not the yoinger one.

Its a nice place they have a ok red routh which is not difficult 2 short climbs but relatively flat. The blue route is pretty much fire road as said. There is a go ape there and a on site cafe. Its a nice place to walk around too

It used to be very muddy in places after wet weather but not been there for a few years so dont know if it's improved or not?

It'll be pretty muddy, best left till it's dry. On a nice day it's a lovely place to ride and the red route is not technical if ridden slowly (if ridden very fast it's superb)

Mmm, I think we may head to Cannock chase? Both my boys ride Thetford black (which is easy) and my oldest enjoys the red at Sherwood he also likes the dh trails there ( and manages the wall ride, little bugger!).

Perhaps bedgebury is not worth the drive?
