my s-works epic needs a new set of bearing. horrified to discover how bad they were.
the bearings say

does this mean anything to anyone? can i walk into a bearing supplier and buy them with this info?

The other bearing could be a 15245 taper bearing? F stands for stainless steel IIRC? Is the other bearing a taper bearing?

Scrub that last one - I've noticed the 15245 has an OD of 62mm which seems a little big!

Bearing out and waiting on the replacements. and god were they all in poor condition. Two siezed another couple gritty as hell only a handfull worked as they should. Lets hope the larger shock bearing are included in the kit.

I'll never buy another Speccy FS - my Stumpy needed bearing replacements after less than 2 years - IMHO they are not designed for wet UK conditions!! Untill they seal up their bearins inside the frame and give a bearing warranty!!

Have a look at the online manual from Specialized which will list the bearing codes. Then with the proper codes, you can look up the bearings. Failing that, get a complete kit from BETD or Enduro bearings in the states. I'm a bit fan of their max complement bearings for suspension pivots (but not in hubs and bottom brackets)

Can I recommend this stuff to put in the bearings. I never fit bearings now without carefully prising out one seal and hosing this Lical grease in there. It's used for boat prop and trailer bearings and so doesn't wash out if you're a bit handy with a jetwash!
