Got the Mega coming up and don't yet have either a Doctor's note or a BC licence. Anyone know where I can get hold of a blank licence to put my details one?!
British Cycling?
If you don't have a membership number with a race license tied to it your plan will probably fail at the first hurdle.
Call British Cycling on 0161 274 2010 and buy a Membership and Racing Licence. You'll need a Letter of Authority to Race Abroad as well and you can't get that without the membership/licence.
If you have the licence, you won't need the doctors note.
Otherwise you won't be allowed to race the Mega.

Oh yeah, that'll work... 🙄
a "friend" of mine did two Megas using forged doctor's note each time. This "friend " was not trying to cover-up an underlying mediacl issue, he was simply avoiding the frankly outrageous £30 charge that "his" doctor charges.
This "friend" of mine also knows someone who had an underlying medical condition and used the BCF license to gain entry as the doctor would not sign him off for such a race.
there you go!
It seems to vary wildly from doc to doc. My doctor gave me the quick once over (so to speak) and then printed the letter out on his desk there and then, asking me what he was to write. I asked about paying (daft I know) and he said there was no charge. I have heard of others getting totally stung though.
As far as I'm aware it's either or; so either phone up BC or make an appointment with your doc. I'm going next week.
Bugger, guess I take my chances at getting registered at a doctor and signed off in time. Crazy legs, ta for the comment but seeing as I have paid for the entry the extra £70 for a BC racing licence is a bit steep as I only need it for this and I have been told certain individuals have taken the blank form route. From what I can see it's not about having a racing licence but the organisers covering their arses in case you drop dead on the course, which from what I thought would be covered in the Snowcard insurance I've already paid for.
