Hello,

Does anyone know if it’s possible to just replace the bearings in a BB/PF92 Bottom bracket rather than buying the whole sleeve? I also assume bb92 is just shimano 24mm version of PF92 sram 24/22mm bearings?

My Norco Sight has a BB92, I swapped over the SRAM unit for a Shimano equivalent as I've killed way too many SRAM BBs over the years.

IIRC, you can only buy the whole unit (sleeve plus bearings). That's not to say that you couldn't source the bearings from elsewhere and press them into the resin sleeve, but you'd risk damaging the plastic shrouding which would let in more grit and water.

I can't remember what I paid for mine, Merlin Cycles looks pretty reasonable at twenty sniffs.

Yep, I have done this with some Enduro bearings in the past. However, IIRC the sleeve just started creaking relatively soon after so I just always replaced the whole BB once the bearings have gone since then.

I use the KCNC BBs, usually buy from clee cycles, as they seal in the middle, giving you a little bit of protection from water ingress via the seattube.

There are many BB92/PF41 BB's on the market that you can replace just the bearings when they wear out, but officially Shimano and SRAM aren't on that list.

Hope, Wheels Manufacturing, Enduro and a few others are, and given the bearings are usually just MR2437's which are available quite cheaply now, it is a better solution in the long run.

thanks all, will buy a new whole sleeve from hope I think so I can replace the bearings, I'll wear through quite a lot so will be worth it in long run

Knocked out the bearings from the sleeve easy enough actually not visible sleeve damage. One side is a standard Gxp sized bearing that I actually had a load of anyway but the other is a an odd size 37x24x8 which is confirmed when you looked at pf92 bearing sizes but can't seem to find anywhere to buy that particular sized bearing. 37x24x7 are easy to get hold of but can I just use a 1mm spacer or something or will it not make any difference?
