I spotted this little piece on the BBC News Channel at lunchtime. Basically it's a pilot project using an electric cargo bike as an outside broadcasting vehicle by way of a green, sustainable approach to journalism.

It's a nice idea but I notice that they've chosen to run the pilot in the Netherlands, which of course, has fantastic cycling infrastructure. I could see someone getting killed trying it in the UK. They're looking for stories to cover - perhaps cycling on UK roads should be suggested.

Why? Cycling's really not that dangerous.

There was a topic on this earlier but it looks to have disappeared? The woman in the video has been doing it for a couple of years at least with Dutch News from the Cycle Path. It's very calm and gives the viewer a good sense of the pleasure in Dutch cycling. Can't see it having the same effect over here.

That was mine but the mods objected to the lack of context. Anyway it's Anna Holligan, BBC correspondent in the Netherlands.
