hello,
as the title says,is this possible?
ive looked into it my self and seems so.i understand the inherant risk that running a bb30 in a bb92 will have a very thin bearing, which could would wear out quicker.
E13 make this:
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=82794
which is a bb92+ adaptor which presses into the bb92 and allow a e13 axles to fit which is 30mm)
would this allow ANY bb30 crank to be used them or exclusivley the e13?
many thanks
liam
Although bb30 and E13 cranks both use a 30mm axle,BB30 uses a nominal 68mm axle length whilst the E13's use 90mm axle length (which is why you can use external cups with them on a 68/73mm bb shell).
So basically,no.You can't use any bb30 chainset (as the axle is too short).
ok this is usefull to know, ive also found these puppys:

would these be a better bet?
should have said, swaying towards rotor cranks at pressent, but more curious overall compatability.
" this adapter bottom bracket is designed for use with BB92 bottom bracket shells with a press-fit ID of 41mm. Since BB92 bottom bracket shells are 92mm wide, you must use a BB30 crankset with a long enough spindle, such as the Rotor 3D+ crankset"
You could use an FSA 386evo chainset because that has a 90mm axle....but they don't make an mtb one yet ๐
