bb spacers and cran...
 

[Closed] bb spacers and cranks arms, where do the spacers go?

Sorry my brother and I are arguing, he 63 yrs old building a new bike frame up is saying that the 2 plastic spacers for a 73mm bb go on the non crankside of the bike................i say no they are on the crank side.....please settle the arguement and let one of us have numpty crowing rights.

1x 2.5mm spacer on the drive side for 73mm

For a 73mm you only need 1 spacer (of the 3 you got with the bb). And it goes on the drive side.

Beat me to it!
Unless of course you're using a BB mounted chain device or front mech, where you'd use no spacers..... or did that just complicate things ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

yes lets complicate things ๐Ÿ™‚ as far as i know HTII BB's are 50mm chainline so it is possible that if using a device or your frame is not the exact 68or73mm then you might need other smaller spacers to get the exact 50mm chainline...
