I have a mountain bike with a standard shimano Hollowtech 11 external BB, which has a 48mm external size. I then go to strip my road bike, which appears to have a 39mm bb (I think) external size, which my tool is loose on. So I get a park bb tool from a well known NI based internet store, but the thing has a different number of teeth.( http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/park-tool-bottom-bracket-tool-bbt29/rp-prod149792) So (without photos just now) what tool do I need for this? Its a Shimano hollowtech 105 chainset.

The latter shimano road bb's are a smaller 'spline' on the outside of the cups. The above tool allows you to use your normal ht2 bb tool.
New road bb's I've had come with that tool.
