I have some RF Aeffect Cranks - can I use a Shimano XT bottom bracket?ย  Or do I have to find an RF BB?ย  Thanks, help appreciated.

Yes, ย Aeffect cranks will work with an an XT bottom bracket. Just remember that if you already use the non-driveside crank axle spacers you will need to reuse them on the new bottom bracket.

Not a problem: I use a cheap Deore BB with one set and a Hope PF converter with another. I'd fit AEffect cranks to my Solaris as well but the current cranks are doing fine so no point.

I've got an issue with mine at the minute, in that I can't get rid of a small bit of play. Hope BB, new bearings, installed as per the instructions, with the correct amount of spacers. Don't 'think' it was there when I first installed them at the start of the year.

Going to add a spacer to the NDS (73mm shell) to see if it gets rid of it.
