I would like to run a normal hollowtech2 chainset on my stumpy which means I need to look at conversion kits.
I've heard of the praxxis model but some people say the creak like buggery.
Are there any others to look at?

Praxis, or works components... I've had both on my stumpy.
Both creaked from time to time, but taking them out and regreasing solved the creaks every time. So, just factor in more maintenance and they'll be fine.
I reckon I've had them out every 6months or so. So not very frequently.

Can you change the bearings separate on these or not ?

You can do a bearing change on the praxis ones. I think Rotor do a converter as well, FSA do them also but the bearings in them are pretty crappy.
