[#13532136]

Discovered the ring of death on my Kinesis Crosslight carbon steerer tube and have also managed to strip the threads for the crown mudguard mount, so after a new fork.

I've seen this (link below) on ebay and think it looks good, axle-crown looks the same, steerer is plenty long enough, it's 1.5"-1 1/8" tapered. Is there anything else I'd need to check? This fork has a wider crown at the top by the looks of it, otherwise seems identical.

Then I'd just need a star fangled nut to replace the expander that was in my carbon steerer, or will an expander work in an alloy steerer?

Ebay fork

I would give Upgrade a call. They might be able to sort something out for you.

I'm not sure exactly what you're after, but Banana industries have a heavily discounted Fugazzi gravel fork.

Thanks for replies.

Need post-mount and QRs really or I have to make other changes. Not sure if your Selcof fork fits that bill TP?

Had a look on Upgrade website and all their listed forks are bolt-through and about 3-4 times the cost of the ebay jobbie.

That video on the other thread showed a steerer repaired by a carbon repair co. May be an option?

Nope, flat mount with a thru axle apparently

I'm following this thread as I'm after a carbon fork to replace the one on my caadx. However all the fork I can find are 1.25 mm taper, and I need a 1.1/4

Canyon use the same fork size iirc.

Got the Ebay fork in the end after Upgrade said they didn't have anything and that they thought it would fit.

may be too late, but Kinesis/Upgrade recalled a load of Al steerer carbon forks - check you aren't about to buy one of those?

Oh blimey, well yes I already ordered it so a bit late but thanks for heads up.

I don't have a part number or anything as yet to check it with. The fella at Upgrade did have a look at the ebay fork so hopefully they would have spotted that, but will double check.
