Looking at the midweek movies, it seems Fabien Barel has left Mondraker and gone over to Canyon.
After that whole Forward Geometry thing with Mondraker, I kind of thought he'd be with them for a while.
It made me realise I hadn't seen a Canyon in motion before!
Is 'Forward geometry' patentable? ๐ If not I'd expect a canyon coming out with something similar soon, front end geometry fiddling will be the big thing in the next/this year
In an interview with Pinkbike, Fab talks about his plans to develop the FG concept further at Canyon.
It's got to be a good thing I reckon - look how the arms race between SRAM and Shimano over the last couple of years has led to ridiculously fast trickle down of technology. If the frame manufacturers now have to really fight to beat each other to tech developments too, that should have a similar effect on bikes rather than just drivetrains and brakes......

Joe Barnes has left Orange and is on Canyon too!
I didn't see either of them changing teams. Good on canyon.
With some big media names they'll grown and develop. Can't be bad.
Oddly, I'd always seen Canyon as more of an MTB brand, but their sponsorship deals seemed to be mostly road based. Think they even provided bikes to at least 1 World Tour / Pro Tour team? Katusha maybe?
Good that they've scored some big names in the MTB scene.
Still never seen a Canyon road bike. Still only ever seen about 2 Canyon FS. Seen a handful of Canyon hardtails all used as commuter bikes. And this is in Germany.
