I like the Specialized tape I get from my LBS. Mainly because I've never had it snap half-way through.

I have used lots of brands of bar tape, and I think this was the easiest to wrap.

It's quite thick, but it's probably the best bar tape about. You can remove it and re-wrap it if you need to.

I need some more,I ride / commute as much off road as possible and struggling with sore tingling hands, altering bar/stem/saddle position etc didn't really help but lower tyre pressure does. Tried double wrapping and it went wrong then tape snapped second go, also cut up an esi grip to put under the tape but the shape is now weird. Stupid drop bars are stupid.

I'm a big fan of Fizik Tape. Its not the easiest to wrap but feels really nice once its on.

Second best would be the grippy Vex tape from Evans.

Cinelli gel tape.

You can get it in clear which looks ace.Very easy to apply, not messy at all, and I haven't managed to tear or rip it whilst applying it.

Smootape XL with Cinelli gel pads have lasted ages on my Fargo commuter. It's really thick and padded and is also tapered so it lays flat as you wrap.

I've just fitted some specialized phat tape. Not as thick but nice and grippy and comes with gel pads for the drops and the bar tops.

Lizard skins wraps ok, not the best though.

Not worth considering anyway, unless you're sponsored or work in the city.

the Pro gel tape is okay, if you don't stretch you can re-wrap.
Cannondale makes some decent gel tape too, will try that next.

Specalized bar photos with the gel pads underneath for me.

Went on with minor cursing, absorbs a bit of vibration and lasts for ages
