saw ad advert for the one-up bars and stem that pointed out little markings on the bar that you line up with the stem in relation to your head angle to give the correct roll height.
FFS i didnt know this was thing! im now conscious my bars might be borked!
i also recall a mate sitting on my bike and commenting on my bars roll, which i just ignored.
is there really any right or wrong, or is it entirely down to user preference?
I'd ignore the markings on the bar and stem. They're probably just a design choice but potentially useful if you take your bars off all the time and want to put them back in the same place.
This is how I understand it- bars have 2 bends. One upwards, and one backwards. I always start with the vertical bend pointing straight upwards, so from the side you can see the face of the bars perpendicular to the ground.
This ensure that the backwards bend points the bars kind of diagonally back and up, into the palm of your hands. A few degrees either way is personal preference but when you get it 'wrong' and have them too far back you can see how the grips point down to the ground.

Set them up however is comfortable for you.
