Looking for a new bar mounted off road light with limited budget. Will use for very dark lanes and riding XC through summer nights. Are any of the Chinese options worth looking at? Don't want to spend more much than a hundred quid... any ideas?
I bought myself a Cateye AMPP 1300 back in Jan, direct from Cateye, intended mainly as a backup to an existing Lumicycle lamp, or for occasional use in isolation. Was just over £70, plus an tenner for a helmet mount. A couple of other options I looked at were US brands, so I binned them off sharpish. In retrospect, I think the 1300 is probably a bit too hefty for helmet use, but is fine as a bar light
I bought a Raveman PR2000 last year.
More than ample spread of light on the lower settings for road riding and off-road, plus it'll run for ~10 hours on a more than bright enough setting.
Ravemen pr2400 is an excellent all rounder. A great beam pattern in 900 lumen road mode is actually very real-world bright and I only occasionally knock it up to full 2400 lumen power on technical fast peak District road descents in the wet. MTB mode fires up all the LEDs for more spread and penetration and still very serviceable on the lower power settings.
often has discounts bringing it to just over 100.
Bought mine from this seller when additional discount codes brought it to £103. It's currently 136 with code RAVEMEN6 which is still a very decent price for it. Cheap spare mounts too if you need them for other bikes.

I love the idea of a light called a raveman, so not even going to look elsewhere. Thanks to all of you as usual.
