Just installed one with speed sensor which is working, shift sensor which is powered, braking sensor, but no motor assistance, user the thumb throttle and nothing

Disconnect the brake sensor and shift sensor then try it. If that works reconnect each of the other sensors in turn.
I'd take a wild stab at the brake sensor not set up or working properly, that's the only one designed to cut power.
