Bought some new road shoes after having one pair for years without issues.
Using same cleats and pedals but obviously not put cleats in exact relative position as having twinge in right lower back after yesterday’s ride. Same when used shoes only other time 2 weeks ago. More than coincidence? Used bit of take to mark off position of cleats on old shoes but guess it’s a bit more scientific than that 😉
Shoes themselves were Shimano RO58 and now new Giro Savix - much comfier than old ones which is the irony 😐
Thinner soles? If you were on your max leg extension on the old shoes the new ones might be pushing you over that edge.
Different cant on the sole? Gone from flat to angled (or vise versa).
Cockeyed cleats *usually* give knee pain rather than lower back.
Ghost - I think that too but Ben’s suggestion makes sense - will look at that. Thinking about it, why only on right side though? Is confused :-/
Why only one side?
You do know that virtually nobodies body is symmetrical don't you?
I have different sized feet and one leg is a few mm longer than the other. This is not unusual.
