[#3723281]

I've got a few which have got dodgy connections at one end or the other.
the ones which are the light end I assume I could buy new connectors and solder them on and amalgamating tape them up
The connectors look fairly standard, or are they? they seem to have some kind of seal in them

The Battery end problem ones though... any chance of getting them fixed? The seem pretty well sealed units

They're all several years old and out of warranty, I've emailed AyUp and they don't do repairs but have offered 20% off new ones as replacements batteries I'll do a light upgrade later once the clocks have changed but, I'd rather not throw them away for the sake of a dodgy wire.

cheers

Smudge would give it a go - I binned mine too late to realize and just got a replacement on off him instead - he also has a new website: http://www.mtbbatteries.co.uk/

great cheers I'll drop him a line

I've got enough that do work until the clocks change so I'll try to send the lights to AyUp and batteries to smudge at the same time as they're used pretty often hence the problems

cheers

Hi,
depends where the leads are broke. If its right on the crimped plastic bit where it goes into the plastic box its not really fixeable as there isnt much wire left sticking out to solder onto.

I gave up trying to open the cases as they're ultrasonically welded and too dangerous with a/ slitting my fingers in half or b/ having a fire as the knife slices through the cells inside! (They are Li-Polymer and just in there jackets snug against the casing)

Troutie does upgrade the Ay-Ups,

But please feel free to email me if you have any questions

Yup I got a Smudge AyUp battery without switch and runs for about 6 hours with my AyUp upgrades from Troutie - IIRC 300 lumens (older version) to ~600 lumens ๐Ÿ™‚
