Hey,
I was just packing up the pitch ready to return from 18 months in NZ and noticed when I pulled the front brake lever there was oil leaking from the resovoir.
Is it a simple case of replacing the resovoir with a kit or might there be a bigger problem? I have heard that these brakes can get this type of leak.
Cheers in advance =)
Rob
Where's it actually leaking from? If it's from the pinhole on the top cap then it's probably nothing to worry about, usually just moisture sitting above the diaphragm under the top cap being expelled when you pull the lever(unless, of course, the diaphragm has split, but that's both unusual and cheap to fix).
Replace the brakes. I can't wait to rip my Juicy 3s off, absolute garbage! Had nowt but trouble with mine.
As long as the lid's not damaged, you'll just need a new diaphragm.
My 3s occasionally leaked there when I first got them but after a bleed they've been pretty good for the last 18 months. Much better than the 5s I had before and more powerful the Formula Oros on the other bike.
Bleed them first and see if that solves it.
I had the same problem a little while ago with my Juicy 7s. It started happening after a fair bit of use (and when I'd just installed a new set of pads).
I bled them and the problem was sorted. Dunno quite what was causing it, whether it was air in the line, me not resetting the pistons properly when changing pads or something else, but its not happened since.
