I have just chenged my brakes and the retaining clip has come out, have i brokem my brakes? I have pushed the clip back in but i dont know how long it will last, it seems to be holding them at the mo.
Is there an easy way to fix it properly? do i need a new rivit or something?

It just clips in and out. As long as it's the right way round, sat in the caliper and, most importantly, has the new pads clipped in fully, then you'll be reight.

Do you mean that you've changed your brake pads and the spring clip on top of the calliper has poped out?
It's not a 'vital' peice as the tabs on the pistons hold the pads in place too.
