After cleaning my bike today I noticed the rear wheel was hardly moving, the rear rotor very tight against the brake pads. Remove back wheel and remove brake pads and noticed the rear brake pistons are not flush. Tried to push them back in but no joy. Any suggestions please?
Pump them out.Spray with silicone spray.Clean off more spray.push back in.Repeat until free.
Clean again the apply hunters silicone grease clean and repeat.
You will get there...
How do I pump them out?
Squeeze the brake lever (carefully, or you'll end up with pistons and brake fluid everywhere),and don't leave the pads in whilst doing this either. It's also possible that you have a touch too much fluid, in which case, loosen the lever bleed screw, and then push the pistons back, clean up the spilled fluid and re-tighten.
