ive got a 180mm post mount front rotor at present so which avid one will that be?
ive also got a 180mm rear rotor that the frame is 160mm IS so need an adaptor for that also
please to save my sanity can you tell me which i need pretty please?
IS 20mm will do your rear. You can't normally buy a 20mm post for the front, check the chart i posted on your other thread for the compatibility & the link to the 20mm post from on-one.
(Edit: Assuming you've got 160mm post forks that is)
You'll need longer bolts for it though if you haven't already got a spacer kit.
Remember Avid use 140mm as a rear standard which is why it's confusing if you have a 160mm standard frame.
jeez what a nightmare ๐
is 20mm rear? that suggests on the CRC link that its for a 160mm rear?
properly confused by this, and post mount to post mount 180mm doesn't even look like it exists anywhere?
the shimano ones are completely straight forward and self explanatory
admittedly im being a mong about it which doesn't help

Because Avid use 140mm as a rear standard for frames - so to them you need a +20mm for a 160mm rotor. If you're frame is 160 then you need +20mm for a 180mm rotor.

As above, to retail customers it doesn't.... ๐ It's OEM only, the on one link is the only place i've found them.
What really doesn't help is the bike industry and everyone else seems to see very different meanings to the word 'standard'... I blame the roadies, I'm pretty sure 140mm discs weren't a thing until they started putting drop bars and disc brakes together!
I had this problem. I ended up buying a smaller rotor! Utter gash! But I think I can save the day.
Please also buy me one ๐

Sort of. The ones you're looking at are older Avid ones which didnt run 180s so they only did them OE, they've changed them now and they are called mounting towers and SRAM branded. The aftermarket ones are hideously expensive though as they come with Ti hardware.
I'd buy a Shimano/Superstar/Clarks/[Insert other brand name here] instead if I were you.
cheers folks
ive tried a shimano 180mm one and although it works it is slightly vibrating at slow braking, not an issue if I ramp the braking up, but slowly using them it does judder abit, can only assume its that as it was fine before!
seriously tempted just save up and get some new xtr trail m9020's instead!
