cheers tallman & flatboy.

I like velosolo, but they want £35 inc p&p for a sprocket and spacer kit! At least Triton are only £26.

I like O-O groove armada's but none in stock, nor anything at Superstar. Even hubjub have given up on freehub sprockets! Disappointing to be let down by the old guard 🙁

EDIT: D'Oh. Just been out to the shed and it's just as well I didnt press buy, Ive got a spare groove armada and even some spacers in there....

the gryphon is the only one Ive seen that does it "right".

It looks really good. Tempting, even. Just as well you hit 'buy' or I would have had some serious N+1 internal conflict. 🙂

And of course you have spare Armada cogs, what SSer doesn't? 🙂

god knows why. It's not like I've ever worn one out! My SS has been my only bike for nearly 4yrs and it's still on the original drivetrain (might have put a tazzy-wonkey in the front mid way).

I have a fine selection too. They seem to last longer than Surly ones.

About a year ago I wanted to ride to the SSEC (but didn't) and I wanted a gear I could ride on the road for 300 miles or so and one for the event.

So I had this "ingenious" idea. I put them all on the bike at once. All I have to do is loosen off the small screws and slide the cog over to the correct chainline (after loosening the wheel of course), and I have a different gear.

It meant I wouldn't have to carry a chain whip and a cassette remover tool.

All it needs now is a device controlled from the handlebars to do it all automatically. Once I've worked it out, I'll make a fortune! Surprised no one has thought of this before. 🙂

I'm going to call it a [s]Chain Buggering Device[/s] derailleur. 😈

Pretty sure you've recreated the predecessor of the derailleur system there, epicyclo! Can't remember what it was called, pretty sure it was a british invention and not long before derailers caught on.

Stoner: great work. You know you've done the right thing.

What was the "sob story"?

"I tried my hardest before, and everyone on the forum still makes fun of me because of it. The Gryphon will be so amazing everyone will forget the other one. Please can I have it, pleeeeease?"

I think I was channelling the "Tri-Velox" 🙂

Used a sliding block and a fixed derailleur, it kept the sacred straight chainline thus luring many of the pure into the ways of the deviant chain.
