[#3954356]

So, current bikes are a 2011 Stumpy EVO that I love to bits and an old Chameleon that's great fun, but a little short - and it's a hardtail. Not sure I can be bothered with a hardtail anymore, but being without 2 bikes would be very strange. So, what do I do with the Chameleon? I'm thinking sell the frame and use the parts, but on what? A second suspension bike will more than likely cross over with the Stumpy too much, but I'm not especially enamoured with the idea of another hardtail.

So, ideas please...

Short travel XC like a Giant Anthem or Scott Spark fast and nippy bikes.

Just have one bike.

After being up to 7, I'm now working my way back down. At 4 now.

jam bo - BRRAAAPPPPP!!!!

I've thought about shorter travel bikes, so maybe I need to look at uber short like the Anthem.

Ourman - used to have 6, so down to 2 is good going. I think I'd be on the verge of cold turkey with just one. I mean, what would you do if you were waiting on a part or something was in need of a fix and you couldn't go out cos you only had one bike? Gives me the heebies...

bonj - cryptic, dude.

Al, been there and never used it, so probably not.
druidh - it's a thought, but that would mean selling everything off the Chameleon. It's a leap too far me-thinks.

*shudders*
A CX would be the same - worse, probably - than a hardtail. Where's the fun in that?

Those that mention 29ers need to wash their mouths out! ๐Ÿ˜ก

Al, could you knock me something up? 24er, fat, soft-tail, chopper, beach cruiser, belt drive singlespeed alfine should cover all bases. Don't forget the obligatory cutlery.

Aye, ken. I'm veering more towards the very short travel end to make it different enough to the lovely, beautiful radness that is the EVO.

*makes a list*

Chunky - I get the hint...

RD - thought about that and looked up Global but they seem to have stopped doing frames. Not sure there are any soft tails GRRRRR enough for my radness though.

I was amazed how supple and plush the Scalpel was with the shock in the open position - felt like a lot more travel.

I reckon a Rush with 110 travel or a Scalpel at 80mm - and the Dales have a super low BB, which I know gets you aroused.

No matter what you think now you'll miss the hardtail when you haven't got one. Sell it by all means but definitely buy/build another hardtail.
